A List of Roadkill Spotted Throughout our Trip to North Dakota

We spent the week in North Dakota.  I have much to post about this over the next few days.  While driving hither and yon throughout the state, on the highways and byways  we spotted:

• 7 dead raccoons.
• 4 dead deer, one of which I think might have been the one that ran high speed ahead right into my mother’s car and totaled it.  (She’s OK).
• 2 dead turtles (one that I sadly hit . . . I do love turtles but saw it too late, and one that I missed because after hitting the first I was on the lookout, but the car behind me ran smack into it and the turtle went flying to the side in my rearview mirror).
• 3 dead stinky skunks
• numerous dead gophers
• 1 dead porcupine.  I think it was a porcupine.  It looked like a porcupine, but I was driving at highway speed and only saw it for a couple of seconds.
