New Eating Arrangement

Chair

This week Destructoman has moved from the high chair, that nicely confined eating space, to a booster seat at the table. Things have gone fairly well. First of all, by some divine miracle, I’ve managed to keep the table clean enough for two kids to actually eat at it. I’ve bribed Ms. Crazy Preschooler that if she stays seated at the table during mealtimes and refrains from stealing her brother’s food off his plate, she could earn a new swimsuit for preschool swimming lessons (we’re measuring the behavior with happy and sad marbles in two jars above the sink). Things are going well, and I probably will have to break down and buy a swimsuit for her next week if she keeps up the good behavior. There only have been a few minor incidents this week when Destructoman couldn’t resist using his plate loaded with nutricious vegetables as a frisbee, unleashing a squishy mess onto the floor. That was followed by tme out time in the crib and tiny hands picking up a lot of small pieces of vegetables. Next week The Banana will probably try rice cereal in the high chair. Stay tuned.
