Wednesday Night Potluck

Potluckstroller

After agonizing all afternoon about the logistics of the potluck dinner at church and what in the world I might actually bring, since I had very little ingredients around the kitchen to work with and my heart was absolutely NOT captivated by the idea of cooking in the first place, I decided to bring two simple things that I can do well:  peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and steamed green beans.  (At one point I was so frazzled by the decision of what to bring I called my Dr. Peds at work, nearly in tears . . . he's the one who suggested sticking with peanut butter sandwiches . . . a wise and patient man I am married to). We snapped the end off the green beans, plunked them in the steamer to cook at church during children's choir, made a plate of sandwiches and stuck the whole mess in the stroller.  It was such a nice afternoon, I couldn't bear to drive.

(For the record, all three kidlets have actually been walking to church all summer on their own two feet, but we couldn't carry all the food and bags and stuff tonight, so we opted for the stroller).
