The Fair

Last night we took a trek to the fair and met some of our good friends. Although in the past I have avoided actually spending a fortune at the fair and distracted Ms. Crazy Preschooler enough so that we didn’t need to do rides, I decided this year that we would splurge, and I would buy her a wristband so that she could go on rides all night with her friends. She was so incredibly excited. She has been waiting for the fair for an entire year, ever since we went last year.

She and her friends whipped from one ride to the next all night long, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. It was a gaggle of four hyper girls that probably burned off all the calories and sugar we let them eat in a fraction of an hour (fair food just isn’t health-minded no matter how you look at it). They bounced in the bouncy house, swooped down the giant slide at least 30 times, rode the carosel, screamed trough the dragon roller coaster, crawled through the funhouse, and whizzed and spun in circles on the swing ride, screaming and squealing the whole time like only preschool girls are capable of doing.

Mr. Cuddles stayed in the stroller patiently, and after Dr. Pediatrician joined us, the two of them strolled about looking at the animals. Our fair has a wonderful collection of animals. Mr. Cuddles liked the chickens best. He got to hold baby chickens and give them kisses. He’s a poultry man (he gets that from me). I didn’t get to see many animals this year because I was busy traipsing around after Ms. CP, which was a little disappointing, but there is always another year.

Mr. Cuddles and I stayed until 9:30 and then I hauled my exhausted guy home. He was sleepy, and my pregant body was screaming “ENOUGH of this standing and walking nonsesnse.” Ms. CP and Dr. Peds stayed a bit longer and then came home and crashed in their beds.

I love these pics especially. They remind me of my childhood at the Towner County Fair. So colorful and such joy evident in the wee faces!
