Because Everyone Likes to Push Buttons, Right?
We have scores of these lovely creations that have come home from preschool. Literally, I could count out groups of 20 of these lovely little papers.
About two weeks ago, Mr. TOF started pulling groups of these papers out of his backpack.
Me: Oh! What did you make?
Mr. TOF: These are Moats.
Me: Oh. Like the water that surrounds a castle?
Mr. TOF: No. They’re moats. You know. Moats. Like when Grandpa Ron is watching TV and pushes all the buttons.
Me: OH! Remotes!
Mr. TOF: Yeah, that’s it. I just couldn’t say it very well.
Me: Well, what do you do with all of these remotes? Do you pretend to watch TV?
Mr. TOF: (looking at me incredulously) No! That’s silly.
Me: What do your remotes do when you push the button?
Mr. TOF: They are for starting fires.
Me: Like in a fireplace?
Mr. TOF: In a fireplace, or just stuff you want on fire.
Me: OK. That’s a good idea.
Mr. TOF: Yeah. I’m going to make one for everyone in our family.
