Winter Walk with Cousins

The morning after Thanksgiving Dot and I decided to take the kidlets on a small hike to get everybody outside in the fresh air.  We left a napping baby with Grandma Kathy, and bundled everybody else up.  It was a chilly morning, with just a few snowflakes gently floating down.  There were fast hikers, and very slow hikers.  There were hikers that wanted to go far, and hikers that didn’t want to hike at all, so eventually we split up into a fast and far hiking group (which ended up being just Alex, The Banana and I) and a slow hiking group that turned around to head back to the car.  The fast group caught up to the slow group again at the end of the hike, so it worked out perfectly.

This boy had energy!  He loved pretending he was a troll guarding all the foot bridges on the trail.  To pass, we had to make him laugh.  Fortunately he laughs easily.  By the end of the hike I think we had finally worn him out, but generally, he’s the energizer bunny on a hiking trail.
