What I Learned in December

  • I learned how to take a screenshot on my iMac.
  • Bluegrass music can be a lot of fun.  I loved singing the Bluegrass Mass with the Arrowhead Chorale and Monroe Crossing during our concert series this month.  It was a lot of fun to watch Monroe Crossing play on their own for part of the concert as well.
  • Clean the backup camera on the van.  Clean the backup camera on the van.  Clean the backup camera on the van.  It had gotten dirty, and I accidentally backed up out of my driveway right into a car parked in a strange spot in front of my neighbor’s driveway.  The car belonged to the neighborhood mail lady.  It wasn’t an actual U.S. Postal Service vehicle, but still, at this point, 2/3 of the vehicular incidents involving another automobile that  I’ve been involved with have been minor fender benders involving vehicles associated with postal workers, and 3/3 of the incidents have happened in a driveway at the address I happened to be living at.
  • Harmonicas in Christmas stockings are wonderful fun.
  • If the side of our driveway that is on a steep incline is icy, a parked van might actually slide down the hill and into the street EVEN if the parking break is on.  It happened to Auntie Dot’s van.  Luckily a neighbor happened to see it happen and called us right away.  Immediately we moved the vehicle and heavily salted the driveway.
