Preschool Ambitions

In Three Year Old Sunday School on Sunday we were talking about how God gives us different kinds of work to do.  We were making bookmarks with our kids.  They glued a Bible verse on the back of the bookmark, and on the front it said “When I grow up I want to be a ___________ because _____________.”

Here’s what happens when you ask three and four year olds what they want to be when they grow up:

“I want to be a deer hunter because I like deer and my dad is a deer hunter.”

“I want to be a policeman because my dad is a policeman and he helps people.”

“I want to be a party planner because I love birthday parties.”

“I want to be a princess because I love to dance.”

“I want to be a fire fighter because I could use the hose to spray water in people’s windows.”

“I want to be . . . . I don’t know . . . because . . . . I’m too tired to have to think about this.”

“I want to be the queen because my sister is always the queen and I want to be the queen instead.”

“I want to be a police guy, a firefighter, an ambulance driver, and a marching band guy because I’d need a lot of money to pay all the bills.”

Perhaps you can guess which bookmark belonged to Mr. TOF.  I guess he will need to work a lot of jobs since he fervently plans on having at least 16 kids.

I can assure you that the answers fit each little person perfectly; they revealed so much  about those little personalities.  Truly, I have more fun than anyone on a Sunday morning.  Three and four year olds are truly hilarious.  I’m still smiling about these bookmarks, and it’s Wednesday now.
