Waiting in the Car During Oboe

As soon as The Banana gets home from school on Wednesday afternoons, we head straight to the piano with her violin to sneak in a practice session before things get really crazy for the rest of the day.  We grab a quick snack and all of the supplies we need to take with us to get to YaYa’s oboe lesson and run some errands in the neighborhood.  For example, most Wednesdays we stop at the post office and drop and pick up books on hold at the library, and sometimes we need to make a quick stop at the grocery store too.  We pick up YaYa from school and then park the car in front of her oboe teacher’s house.  Usually we review AWANA verses.  Mr. TOF plays on the iPad.  The Banana sometimes reads silently to herself or studies spelling words.  Sometimes I bring a chapter book to read to both of them.  On this particular Wednesday I was finishing up a chapter book read aloud, and The Banana didn’t have any AWANA verses to learn since it was the end of the year and she had just finished her AWANA book.  While I was reading away she was weaving away on her rubber band loom, creating scores of bracelets and a very, very long garland of colorful rubber bands.
