Happy Birthday YaYa

So much was going on the day of YaYa’s birthday that it was practically ridiculous!  Because we had NINE KIDS staying at our house, and it was all degrees of a lovely mayhem, we skipped the annual tradition of breakfast in the bathtub.  I know.  So sad!  But NINE KIDS were famished and YaYa happened to pick french toast for breakfast, and it just wasn’t going to work out.  We opened presents with the cousins, who were packing up ready to go home later that morning.

There were special birthday snuggles for new baby Elizabeth.

We had potatoes and chili for lunch, and the afternoon was filled with different people needing to get different places, as well as moving people back to their normal rooms when the cousins departed.

A special birthday pasta was prepared for dinner supper, and at the very end of the day everyone gathered around for some delicious ice cream.  She had quite a bit of help blowing out the candles.  No one wanted waxy ice cream, I guess.

YaYa ended her day with the privilege of watching a movie on the iPad all alone.  Ahhh.  She’s my mini-me introvert.
