School Carnival Night

The annual carnival at Ya Ya’s school is a super exciting night for the kidlets.  There was a great deal of inflatable goodness (bouncy houses, inflatable slides, and all sorts of other things) carnival games where they sacked a great deal of candy as prizes, a cake walk, ice cream treats, and the glee of weaving in and out of a crowd of people.  The Banana liked the bouncy house best, and Mr. SP loved the inflatable obstacle course race, but he was also extremely thrilled to have won a cake in the cake walk.  He immediately decided we should save the cake for his half birthday celebration coming up on Monday.  (He’s been counting the days off one by one for a very long time).  Ya Ya liked the cake walk best even though she didn’t actually win a cake, and I enjoyed my dish of ice cream.

There was a lot of standing in line, but all three kidlets were super about being patient and working together.  It was really fun because they were actually excited about doing all the inflatable attractions as a group, and that really helped The Banana to feel included and excited.

The rest of us had long finished our ice cream treats before The Banana was even half way through hers.  She loves to savor sweet treats and taste each tiny bite.  She looks a bit grouchy here because she was pretty nervous when Mr. SP and Ya Ya sidled up for a picture.  She was pretty sure they were after her chocolate treat.
