Scenes from Thanksgiving Weekend: Part 1

Mmmmm.  Leftovers!

Great Grandpa McGinty’s delightfully obnoxious singing flowers made several appearances during the weekend.  The flowers spin and play “In the Mood.”  Grandpa McGinty always kept them in their original box on a dresser at the end of the hallway next to the kitchen.  All the small people loved pushing the buttons and dancing.  Those small people are big people now.  They still like pushing the button and dancing, and now there is a crowd of new small people to take delight in this musical wonder.  Even though the singing flowers kind of drive me crazy after a while, I’m glad Dr. Peds thought to bring them out.  It was the perfect touch.

The weekend was filled with amazing musical improvisations!

Cousin Alex was very excited about this tower.

There was a lot of texting back and forth about itinerary.

Cousin Nathaniel has all the moves with his guitar.  He is extraordinarily enthusiastic in his music making, and loves to have others join in to make an ensemble.  He particularly likes to sing train songs.  We had many jam sessions.  Best of all, the songs usually finish with his own version of an Elvis move, even though he’s never seen Elvis.

The Thankful Tree was up, and it was a big hit, especially with the small people.

In case you can’t read it, this thankful tag, written by a cousin, says “Noah’s Luscious Blonde Locks.”

Cousin Elizabeth is a petite little one, but thankfully she doesn’t mind being carried around by kids.
