Carving Pumpkins

So, I’m a bit behind again on blogging about the happenings around here.  The cousins were here last weekend, through Halloween!  Then the cousins left, and I acquired a nasty little virus, so I’m just putting things back in order this weekend.

Eight pumpkins were carved!  I don’t have pictures of any of them, unfortunately.  Actually, technically seven pumpkins were carved.  The eighth child (YaYa) never got around to carving her pumpkin, so on Halloween, Auntie Dot stuck about ten brightly colored pairing knives into the pumpkin like porcupine quills.

Because we have snow (quite a lot, actually, and it keeps coming) a lot of the pumpkin carving happened inside on the kitchen floor.  At least the cleaning out of the pumpkins happened on the kitchen floor.  Dr. Peds took some pumpkins outside and used power tools to carve them, but I think The Banana might have used power tools inside.  It was a pumpkin extravaganza.  Or chaos.  (However you would like to think about it).  The pumpkins looked great on the steps on Halloween, and everyone had fun being creative.  Hooray!
