Sunday Night at the Beach 2021: Edition 4

Mr. Trouble on Feet and I headed to a little point off the Lakewalk to watch Independence Day fireworks. Over the years we have tried a lot of different places to watch fireworks, and this happens to be his and my favorite. It’s not that crowded because most people don’t think of it. It’s next to the water. The scenery is lovely, and when everything is over, exiting the parking lot has proved to be smooth going over and over again. We debated going close to the fireworks since the symphony was playing at Bayfront Park, but in the end it was just so, so very hot out, and we just didn’t want to be in a big crowd of people, making this a much better option.

The sunset happened just as a few thunderclouds moved through, dropping some rain south of us, but not affecting any of the fun. It’s always lovely to wait for the fireworks and watch people setting off random fireworks of their own on the hillside and across the water in Superior. There was also interesting lightening to watch, (don’t worry . . . it was far away in the clouds) and once the fireworks in Duluth and Superior started, it kind of felt like a cacophony for the eyes. Between both big displays across the water and the lightning, it took some focusing on just what to watch!

It was just the two of us, since The Banana was visiting a grandma in North Dakota, YaYa is gone for the summer, Dr. Peds was working at the hospital, and the Devious Snail was doing some volunteer fundraising for his robotics team.
