Samson: The Double Edition

Yes, believe it or not, there are actually two boys in our church with Samson hair (maybe even more?!?)  Mr. SP and this small guy have become fast friends.  We met his family a few weeks ago actually, when our family and his family both ended up at the same restaurant for lunch after church, and I recognized “Samson 2” from Sunday School.  Samson 2 is a year younger than Mr. SP and a year older than The Banana.  It turned out that the restaurant had a long, long wait for seating, and that Samson 2’s dad had done some work in the hospital with Dr. Peds, so we all decided to go to a different restaurant for lunch, and had a wonderful time.

Last Sunday Samson 2 found Mr. SP at church and convinced his parents to invite our family to the soccer field to launch rockets.  It did not take much convincing to get our family to the soccer field to launch rockets.  The kidlets were  thrilled, although Ya Ya, who doesn’t like fire, was a bit hesitant.   Samson 2 and his dad build rockets and launch them.  The rockets go flying high into the sky until they are hardly visible, and then come floating down with a parachute.  The excitement was, well, tantalizing.  There was a backwards countdown from 10, a press of the button, and a wild launch.  Mr. SP even got to press the button a couple of times.  The Banana, Ya Ya, and myself chatted with Samson 2’s mom (from Switzerland) and little sister.  Lots of fun!

Despite their height difference, Mr. SP and Samson 2 look so much alike that if you don’t look closely at their faces, sometimes you actually mix them up.
