Fall Festival Pumpkin Patch

Some friends of ours from church, actually our babysitter’s family, started a pumpkin patch/fall festival this year, with festivities happening each weekend in October.  We’ve been meaning to go, and because the weather was beautiful again this weekend, we thought Sunday afternoon would be a good time.  We had loads of fun.

Our babysitter, Jordan, had been telling the kidlets about how she was working at the face painting booth, so the kidlets were extremely excited to go there first.  They love having their faces painted, Mr. SP in particular.

Mr. Sneaky Pants was a bundle of motion, running around pretending to be a tiger.  He took a few breaks to admire himself in the mirror set up in the face painting area.  He was wholeheartedly pleased with his appearance.  Dr. Peds decided to get into the action too, and we decided he should be a tiger daddy.  Mr. Sneaky Pants was pleased.  Very pleased.  Squirmy didn’t know what to think.

We had a great time playing in the corn box.  Mr. Sneaky Pants loved filling up his bucket and dumping it on his sister’s head.  (It was much easier than sand to wash out!)  One of the big highlights of the day, though, was taking a hayride in a wagon pulled by a tractor through the forest.  Strangely, even though all the other haywagons were filled to the brim with people, ours was not!  We had a private ride because we were the only ones waiting when we decided to go.  The kidlets thought it was really neat.

We picked out a pumpkin to bring home.  Ya Ya has big plans for it.
