The Banana Has a Birthday

The Banana’s birthday coincided with a special visit from Grandma Robbie and Grandpa Ron, but somehow in the midst of everything I didn’t manage to get any pictures of The Banana with her grandparents, or even Peanut Maximus with his grandparents. Sigh. Clearly I wasn’t thinking straight.

The Banana had a busy birthday. Breakfast in the bathtub (rye bread with nutella, fruit and yogurt) occurred well before the sun was up, and then she was off to harp lessons and school.

After school she had swim practice, and I picked her up and brought her home to visit just a few minutes with Grandma and Grandpa before she started tackling her homework. Dr. Peds came home from work late in the evening and cooked her favorite supper: orzo with cream sauce and broccoli. The Banana requested fruit kabobs with her birthday treat. She opted for pie instead of cake, so Grandma Robbie brought three amazingly delicious pies with her. Of course there was loud, obnoxious singing of the birthday song to celebrate the day when the pie, aflame in candlelight was delivered to the table. Peanut Maximus managed to sleep through all the CRAZY singing while he was nestled into Grandma Robbie’s arms.
