First Cereal

I loved how his eyes were so very wide when I stuffed the first bite of rice cereal in his mouth.

This is my fourth child, and I’ve watched a lot of other people take care of their babies and feed them.  I still can’t figure out how to spoon feed without making a terrific mess!  I just embrace the mess and go on.  It gets more interesting when even more colors of food are involved and the babies start squishing their hands up by their mouths and smearing it all over their heads.

Squirmy is the greatest thumb sucker I’ve ever had.  No one else cared about their thumbs.  He loves his.

Fingers work well too.  In fact, he couldn’t figure out whether he should be sucking his fingers and hands or looking for the spoon full of cereal.

Things got even more interesting when the second mother in the house, otherwise known as The Banana begged desperately to try her hand at running the spoon.

Messy, messy, messy!  But everyone was happy.

Yum.  Look how he watches his big sister with absolute adoration.

Oh so very full.  Very full indeed.  A rice cereal feast we had, yes we did.
