Goodbye Fourteen, Hello Fifteen

We started the morning early with donuts in the bathtub before Mr. TOF and The Banana left for rowing. Peanut Maximus wasn’t so sure about getting into the bathtub with the crew, but as soon as I handed him a donut, things were jolly. The donuts disappeared fast.

After the rowers arrived back home from rowing and showered, we headed down to eat pizza at Vitta Pizza. Dr. Peds joined us after his dentist appointment, and even the Devious Snail came along, because who can pass up Vitta Pizza. It was a fun lunch, and because fifteen year olds who are six foot three and play multiple sports simply love food, we also got Love Creamery ice cream.

We headed back home again, and Mr. TOF fell fast asleep. In fact, he didn’t quite wake up on time to get to his baseball game when he was supposed to because I was working and also lost track of time. He did arrive before the game with the wrong pants (not his fault; he didn’t know) and having forgot his sunglasses, but The Banana saved the day and delivered them to him. She was going down the hill as I was going up the hill. As soon as Peanut Maximus woke up from his nap, I needed to pick up the ice cream cake over on the other side of town.

Did I mention that it was so, so hot on his birthday? I swear every year it seems like the hottest day of the year is on Mr. TOF’s birthday. It’s ridiculous!

I took along an insulated bag to put the cake in so it didn’t melt on my drive home.

As soon as I got the cake in the freezer, we headed down to see the baseball games. It was a double header, and I don’t think Mr. TOF was sad about playing a lot of baseball on his birthday. The Banana even game to cheer him on, and Cousin Nathaniel was visiting for Camp Aunt Rachel. Dr. Peds joined us also.

By the time baseball was over it was nearly dark, so Mr. TOF zoomed over to a neighbor’s house to check on their garden while they are traveling while I made his favorite supper: baked pasta. We ate outside, but decided to move inside for presents and cake because the mosquitos had gotten bad, and the daylight had disappeared.

You can tell from the photographs that the singing was as crazy as always! What an awesome racket.

Mr. TOF ended his birthday by watching a movie with Cousin Nathaniel.
