Garden Worker

We are so fortunate to live in the middle of two houses with amazing gardeners on each side of us. It’s like living in a park! Unfortunately they both have to look out their windows at our chaos! In the past few years both neighbors have been featured on different garden tours in our city, and this year, our neighbors to the south were included in a pollinator way station garden tour. Their entire yard, front and back has turned into a garden over the past two decades! In the back they grow vegetables. In the front they have fruit trees, strawberries, and amazing flowers. It is really something to behold.

They are in their yard weeding all day every day, but to prepare for the garden tour they needed a slightly larger labor force, so they asked a neighbor across the street who is a college student and The Banana if they might be interested in helping them with some tasks to prepare for the tour, which happened on Saturday. The Banana donned her garden gear and sunscreen, and they were all wearing masks because the air quality was so terrible from forest fires. She weeded and rebuilt a rock wall and did all sorts of things over there for several days, and the yard, which I didn’t think could ever look better, looks even more stunning!
