Dressing Up

Dressing up continues to be the activity of choice around here.  There are costumes in every nook and cranny from the top to the bottom of the house.  You never can be sure who will be wearing what and when they might decide to wear it.  In fact, if the kidlets had their way, they'd get rid of normal clothes entirely and just exist in one costume after another.

A lot of the time, Mr. Sneaky Pants and The Banana dress up like knights, dragons, and pirates and have rambunctious sword fights.  Don't worry.  The Banana has NO TROUBLE maintaining a fierce fight with a sword.  She's pretty amazing.  However, their favorite thing to do when Ya Ya is at school and we don't have to go anywhere out of the house is scramble around upstairs to create fairy costumes.  The Banana has fairy costumes of her own.  Mr. Sneaky Pants does not.  He thoroughly enjoys raiding his big sister's costume stash.  He especially enjoys this because he well knows that she will have a meltdown when she finds out that he's been wearing her dresses and tights and wings all day long.

Predictably, she did have a meltdown when she came home and saw these pictures open on my computer.  But, in the meantime, oh the joy!  The twirling!  The flying off the couch!  The magic fairy wands that can turn anything into a purple lizard!  The fun to be had!  And the magnificent prospect of driving your big sister completely over the edge. (Not only does she hate that he's using her things, but she really can't stand the fact that he's a BOY wearing things that GIRLS are supposed to wear).    It's nearly too much. With a little persuading, he did decide this afternoon  that wearing regular clothes to the aquarium might be better than arriving in costume.
