Mary Had a Baby

Peanut Maximus is still talking about the Sunday School program at church. It looked like he wasn’t singing very much during the program, even though he knew all the words to the preschool songs. (He did sing more during the second service.) However, really he was not singing very much because he was super focused on watching the big kids play their percussion instruments, and when he arrived back home he started a festival of singing and drum playing.

For days on end, he set up the drums in various configurations and sang passionately “Mary had a baby” BOOM! “My Lord!” The “boom” is a terrifically forceful mallet connecting with the drum, just like the big boys at church did when everyone sang this song. Peanut Maximus started this early in the morning, well before sunrise, and it was relentless until he went to bed. The Napping teenagers felt disjointed and discombobulated.
