  • This is the week where everything comes crashing into the school schedule: rehearsals, music lessons, Sunday School . . . all the things! We are managing. Some things are going better than expected. Other things feel a little challenging.
  • The vines on the windows in my office detached themselves a bit, and then we had some rainy days and they got heavy and fell pretty much off the windows entirely. Last weekend I gave Dr. Peds the go-ahead to cut them off at the corner so they could grow back, but of course, one thing led to another, and there were actually two vines involved and a lot of dead undergrowth. Now I have mostly no vines on my office windows, which feels stark and sad. I know they most likely will grow back, but in the meantime: Yuck.
  • There is a group of pigeons in my neighborhood, and although I know that some people find them to be pests, I thoroughly enjoy watching them. I think they are actually beautiful birds, and their antics crack me up. The other day Peanut Maximus and I drove into the driveway, and there was a pigeon party right on the street. We wondered if they might like to eat hot dogs or cookies without nuts (like the famous pigeon in the books) or perhaps they had plans to drive a bus.
  • I organized my office last weekend. It took all of Saturday afternoon, but I am appreciating that I took the time to make that happen. It feels so much easier to find things when I need them.
  • Peanut Maximus has been loving Fly Guy books. We checked out an enormous stack of them at the library this morning.
  • The flowers are starting to fade, but the leaves are getting ready to burst into glory.
