Puddles in the Middle of the Street

I know what you are thinking:  Does she let these kidlets jump in puddles every day?  Really, it only averages out to about once a week.  The weather on Saturday was purely scrumptious, and in the late afternoon we decided to walk to the park, kidlets clad in galoshes.  There were some amazing deep puddles to explore at the park which went almost up to the top of the rainboots, and of course the usual, fun park activities, like sliding and swinging and climbing and playground games.  Squirmy was getting hungry, so I bribed them to walk back home with the promise of jumping in these big puddles in the middle of the street about three blocks up the hill from our house.  Since it was Saturday night, and I knew everyone needed to have a bath anyway, I told them to get as wet as they wanted.  You should have heard the frenzied screeches of joy and the chaotic running back and forth in the puddle.  There was a bit of mud squelching off to the side and some falling into the mud as well, which resulted in mud monster tag, and a long soak in the tub and shower for everyone when they got back to the house.  What’s a little more laundry, when we have so much in the first place?
