82 Kajillion Scenes from the Sandy Beach on Saturday Evening

Beware:  there are lots and lots of images to follow, because the light at the sandy beach Saturday evening was amazing, and all of the kidlets, who hadn’t been to the sandy beach yet this summer, were having an absolutely splendid time.  It was a great night to be at the beach because there were some amazing thunderstorms just to the southwest, and the clouds were tremendous.  Not only was the sky interesting to watch in its unobstructed glory, but  the changing clouds and how the sun peeked through and sparkled at just the right angles made all the colors vibrant and beautiful.  The water in Lake Superior continues to amaze me this summer.  It’s cold, but a refreshing cold that  does not quickly numb your limbs.  You see many more people in the water this summer, and the kidlets of course, can’t stay out of it.  Here’s the Mama duck with her ever faithful ducklings, following her every move.

Someone is still not QUITE sure he likes the temperature of the water.  I’m pretty sure it will grow on him and he’ll be right in the middle of the chaos in a year or so.

He thought it was so, so very funny to throw sand up in the air so that it landed on his head.

The sisters love covering themselves in sand and then racing back into the water to rinse all of it away.  They pretend to be sand monsters.

It makes my day to see your pictures and the story about them. The only other thing that would be better is to share that time with you all.
