Early Autumn

It’s my favorite time of year!  The leaves are getting better every day.  On Wednesday while the big kidlets were at school in the morning, I decided to fling caution to the wind, and even though I had a long To Do list of things that really needed to be worked on during my time with fewer than usual children, on the way back from dropping off The Banana at preschool, Mr. Trouble on Feet and I went for a stroll in the woods.  We stopped at what our family affectionately has termed “Broken Bridge Road.”  I am sure it has an official name.  It used to be a real road at the top of Seven Bridges Road, and on the path there are several wonderful old stone bridges fallen into various states of disrepair since the road, which once connected a prominent farm in the area to part of town, stopped being used for traditional traffic.  In the winter it’s a snowmobile trail, and in the summer it’s a horse/walking/ biking path.  We just discovered it last year, and it’s quickly become one of our favorite places for a terrific walk since we can easily push a jogging stroller on the trail.  Sometimes I’m lazy and it’s easier to push Mr. Trouble on Feet rather than pack him on my back.  It also has a lot of great little nooks and crannies to explore.

Mr. Trouble on Feet and I had a terrific walk Wednesday morning.  The leaves were beginning to turn (they’re even better now) and the s0ft yellow morning light came filtering through the beautiful foilage.  The weather just the perfect kind of warm for a lovely walk.  Next to the path with all these terrific trees is a babbling creek.  You can’t do much better for a quick little morning walk, I do not think.
