The Great Grandma Kathy Visit
The Banana was so very, very sad to say goodbye to Grandma Kathy when she left last Monday. There were lots of tears. There was lots of misery. Thank goodness we had a music class to go and teach, or we both probably would have wallowed all morning. The Banana really hates the idea of goodbye.
However, while she was here, we all had a wonderful time with Grandma Kathy. She kept up with our super crazy schedule, and I dragged her all over to various patches of forest to look at the amazing trees that were perfect while she was here. The greatest thing of all was that there was time for Grandma Kathy to carve out special one on one experiences with each and every kidlet, and having time alone with grandma was a super duper big deal. The Banana got to go out to lunch special with Grandma, where she consumed her own lunch and half of Grandma’s tasty food, and then shared a magnificent dessert. On the way back they hit a garage sale and found some great treasures. While I was teaching, Grandma Kathy took Mr. SP out on an excursion to find a duck call (it’s been a bit noisy here of late) and studied spelling words with him. YaYa and Grandma went to have a special snack at a coffee shop, and on top of all of that, Grandma watched all the kidlets for a chunk of time one evening while I went to take photographs for a client.
Grandma came along to all the music classes and chased Mr. Trouble on Feet when he did his famous escaping act. He loves to run down the long hallways at the assisted living places. She did my dishes, and read books to kidlets. An extra set of hands was so great to have around. We miss her a lot.
