Mr. Sneaky Pants and the Preschool Halloween Parade

I’m hoping to catch up on a lot of posts regarding Halloween today.  Last Thursday Mr. Sneaky Pants was very excited to wear his knight costume to preschool.  This excitement was heightened by the fact that the Thursday before that his preschool hosted a Boo Ball fundraiser.  There was a kid appropriate DJ, and the families of all the preschoolers were invited to come to the ball dressed up in their costumes.  I, unfortunately was not able to attend because it was my teaching night, but Dr. Peds rounded up all three kidlets and they had an amazingly fun time.  Mr. Sneaky Pants was ready to go, but told us over and over how he was NOT going to dance; he would just be watching.

It turned out, however, that immediately upon making an entrance at the ball, he located his buddy, John, who was dressed up like a Power Ranger/Robot, and the two of them were the most maniacal dancers in the building.  They didn’t stop moving the whole entire night.  Mr. Sneaky Pants has talked excessively about costumes, the Boo Ball, and his buddy John ever since.

He was very excited to have another opportunity to wear his costume at preschool.  All the parents sat in the fellowship hall of the church where he attends preschool, and after a bit a line of adorable kids wound its way around us in loops.  They went around several times and then back out and to their classrooms.  The Banana and I were excited to see Mr. Sneaky Pants (walking right next to his buddy John), but the best part of all was how happy our little knight was.  He was bounding with happiness in a I’m-actually-following-instructions kind of way.  He gave us a big grin, and a cute little wave.  Each time the parade looped around my row of chairs, he stopped and gave me a big lick on the arm (which seems to be the ultimate form of endearment from a knight, I guess).  It was cute.  And a little slimy, but I”m used to that by now.
