Camera Boy in Cyberspace

Mr. Sneaky Pants was happily working on an art project yesterday morning while his big sister was at school.  I asked if he wanted me to take a photograph of his masterpiece and put it on my blog so that some of his grandmas could see it on the computer.  He replied clearly that he really wanted his own blog like Sarah's, AND that he wanted his own camera to take pictures for his blog.  He had been hearing Sarah and I plan her first grade blog for several weeks.

I thought, why not?  Usually he is just not all that interested in ideas like this.  I had an extra version of a very old digital point and shoot camera worth about five dollars on ebay sitting on my desk upstairs.  It is actually identical to Sarah's camera.  We purchased it a couple of years ago for spare parts; it looks a little worse for the wear, but works just fine.

When he picked up the camera, Mr. Sneaky Pants just got so terribly excited.  He started taking pictures of EVERYTHING.  He has told everyone he sees that he has his own camera now.  The child is seriously thrilled.  It made me happy to see him so happy.  For the record, he has been extremely careful with the precious camera.  Even more careful than his big sister.

The most fun part of all was seeing how excited he was to look at the view finder and see the pictures he just took.  He would take a picture of a toy, and then be completely amazed that the furniture next to the toy was in the picture too!  He took a picture of Hannah on my lap and was amazed that I was also in the picture.  It is so fun to get a glimpse of how his mind works.
