Weekend Visit

We were so exited to take a little weekend trip down to The Cities last Saturday.  I spent the greater part of Saturday singing at the state fair with the Arrowhead Chorale as part of the Minnesota Voices concert sponsored by the American Composers Forum.  (It was very fun, and probably deserves a post all its own).  The kidlets and Dr. Peds visited some of our closest friends from medical school who just moved a lot closer to us!

When my husband and Joey and Christina graduated from medical school, they had one child, and we had one child.  And now, after residency, there are SEVEN kids between us! (ranging from six to eighteen months)  That translates as a lot of fun and a lot of chaos.  84gregandsevenstamp

There was lots of room in their spacious house for running and dancing, which we did a lot of.  The favorite dancing music for the weekend was "Mr. Mistoffelees"  from the musical Cats.  There was spinning.  There was leaping.  There were acrobatic twists in the air as small people ran up to tall daddies from every direction.

Who doesn't love Grandma Karen?   She is so entertaining, and exciting, and, well, grandmotherly.  My kids just ate her right up.

Yes, that is my son wearing blue wings.  He was so excited that there were enough wings in the dress up closet so that he could have a pair, too, as well as a sparkly fairy wand just like the one he always tries to sneak out of Sarah's closet when she's at school.   He had a wonderful time turning people into lizards, snakes, spiders, and even a Tyrannosaur Rex.  He especially liked turning Grandma Karen into all kinds of interesting things.

Not only was this little guy wonderfully snuggly, incredibly sweet and fun to watch all the time, but he also had amazing aim with a squirt bottle of water.  And his FAVORITE person to squirt was me!  I loved it!
