In the Car, This Morning

We were all driving in the car on our way home from some morning appointments today.  From the middle of the van, Mr. Sneaky Pants was listening to me describe an article I had been reading in a magazine about old houses:

Mr. SP:  I really, really wish we could go back and live in our old house again in Wisconsin.

Me:  Really?

Mr.  SP:  I liked that house soooooooo much.  I wish we could live there again.

Me:  (surprised he can actually remember that house)  Well, what did you like so much about our old house?

Mr. SP:  The cereal.

Me:  Really?  The cereal?  (Dr. Peds and I are doing our best to keep from laughing in the front).

Mr.  SP:  Yeah.  I liked all the cereal on the floor.

My first vision was remembering that we really did have a lot of cereal on the floor in the kitchen, along with a lot of dried shredded cheese, and squashed canned carrots, and lots of other food debris.  But we have that in this house too, thanks to my messy kidlets.  After a bit of explaining, I finally figured out that he was remembering this.  And that made a lot of sense.  We might have to try it again in our new house.
