A Minnesota Fan

We're not big sports fans around here, but a few weeks ago Dr. Peds bought some hockey tickets at a silent auction to see UMD play UND.  He though Mr. Sneaky Pants would enjoy going along.  The morning of the hockey game, I told Mr. SP about where he could go with his dad that night.  Mr. SP immediately announced that he would be cheering for the UMD Bulldogs, because there is a big statue of a bulldog in the building at the university where we go for swimming lessons.

Dr. Peds and I found this quite comical.  Actually, it hadn't really occured to us that he might have a preference in what team to root for.  Dr. Peds, of course, went to medical school at UND, and just the fact that we are really from North Dakota would lead him to cheer for the green team.

Mr. Sneaky Pants has actually lived more of his life as a Minnesotan now than as a Wisconsinite, and he never did live in North Dakota, despite his mother's extraordinary adoration for the state, so it all makes sense that he would be a Bulldog fan.

Dr. Peds and Mr. SP took a trip to the thrift store, where they happened to find this Minnesota sweatshirt and a University Minnesota Duluth shirt for less than $2 each.  They splurged, and Mr. SP was donned in Minnesota colors, while Dr. Peds went to the hockey game dressed in the greenest UND sweatshirt we had on hand.  They had a great time, and this sweatshirt has now become a fast favorite of Mr. SP.
