Snippets of the Second Wedding

The following images are not perfect photographs, but have interesting stories behind them.

Windfall

The first, for example, is an image of Dorothy with three of the six year old girl cousins in the receiving line.  Standing off to the side of the picture, but not visible in the image, was the pastor's wife.  The three cousins are LOUDLY and persistently asking the bride when EXACTLY will she be having a baby and what kind of baby will it be and what will she name the baby.  Meanwhile Dorothy is trying her very best to hold her composure and clearly (and loudly, so that all bystanders hear) explain that she's NOT planning on having a baby soon, and that it will probably be YEARS before she has a baby.  I am standing in the doorway just giggling about the rumor potential.

Survival

You too, might resort to large boxes of consumable snacks in order to keep large numbers of small children (who are most often in Sunday School or the nursery during church)
quiet during a sermon if you were sitting amid more than ten tykes in the front three rows of the sanctuary. These Wheatables made Auntie Amy extremely popular during church. Afterwards they were still storming around her begging for crumbs.

Initiation

Halfway through the wedding reception a swarm of my nieces came bounding toward me exclaiming, "Did you know we have a NEW uncle!"  Apparently they just hadn't realized this before.  It didn't take them long to decide he made an awfully good jungle gym, however.
