Friday Night School Carnival

At the end of a crazy day filled with garage sales in the morning, a walk to the post office, grocery store and branch library in the afternoon, and several quick and messy meals in between, Sarah and I zipped off to the school carnival while Dr. Peds gave the other kidlets baths and put them to bed. Taking just Sarah proved to be a wise choice. She had a fantastic time, and the others wouldn’t have done well with the notion of patiently waiting in line for the activities.

There were fun things inside and outside of the school: the duck pond, the bean bag toss, the color candy wheel (think Wheel of Fortune) cake walks, a dunking booth, and lots of inflatable goodness. Sarah liked all of it. She even won a major prize, wooden beads, in the treasure chest game. But my favorite part was watching her in the bouncy house. I just love the bouncy house. I wish I were small enough to go in the bouncy house myself. And the golden evening light was so gorgeous shining on the brilliant manmade plastic.
