At The Supper Table

It is May. Our spring is late, late, late.  But yesterday it was 62 degrees at supper time!   There is still a lot of snow on the ground in our backyard, but we shoveled out the deck and we’ve turned it into a summer oasis! It’s always great to start eating together out on the deck in the spring.  The fresh air is great.  It doesn’t matter how messy people get.  The kids are thrilled not to have to sweep the floor under the table.  It doesn’t matter that three people spill their glass of milk at each and every meal.  Our local squirrel population loves to see us back eating outside too.  There are always plenty of delicious tidbits under the table.

Last night we all dined on noodles, cheese and broccoli in the outdoors.  Since it was so warm, most of us were in bare feet, a simple shirt, or maybe just a light little sweatshirt.

Except for The Banana, who heard a rumor that someone saw a single, brave mosquito.  She came to dinner dressed in her puffy winter coat with her hood up to protect from any unwarranted bug bites, just in case.

Time to uncover those bushes and let them breath, wish I could have had supper with you, but noodles and cheese is not one of my favorites. How about some fresh hamburgers?
