Daily Grind
Just so I can stop feeling guilty about all the things I did not get done today, here’s a list of the things I DID manage to accomplish:
1. I raked 1/4 of the yard and packed the soggy leaves into the yard waste garbage can.
2. I read a plethura of children’s picture books.
3. I fed my family several times.
4. I made a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies.
5. I washed all the windows on the first floor of the house with vinegar. Although the rest of the house is a complete disaster and I have nine heaping baskets of laundry to fold, I have sparkly, clear windows downstairs. I love a clean window.
6. I located a pair of orange fleece pajamas for The Banana’s Halloween costume in the attic. Because I couldn’t remember which plastic tote I had put the orange pajamas in when Mr. Sneaky Pants grew out of them, this feat took over 30 minutes.
7. I rescued The Banana from the top of a very tall ladder. While I was looking for the orange pajamas in the attic, she decided she’d join me. I turned around and there she was on the second to top step of the ladder. Thankfully I managed not to panic and snatched her up quickly before she fell ten feet to the ground.
8. I took a lot of mediocre pictures of The Banana in her Halloween costume.
9. I washed my hair in the late afternoon.
10. I pushed the double stroller to the church for choir rehearsal and Bible study.
11. I practiced piano and flute.
12. I snatched a chocolate chip cookie away from Everyone’s favorite thief-with-a-sweet-tooth (see previous post). He wiggled his way up to the counter and grabbed a tasty morsel while I was cooking the chicken for supper.
13. I survivied innumberable tantrums from all three children. At one point while I was cooking supper all three were distraught at the exact same time, wailing at the top of their lungs.
14. And now I’m going to sleep.
