Leaf Head

While my husband was away this weekend, I recruited some small familiy members to help pack some of our leaves into the yard waste bin. I had The Banana on my back, and while they cooked up a lovely batch of mud soup, dirt coffee, and rotten-green salad, complete with sad moldy crab apples and overripe berries as garnish, I raked the leaves into a few nicely sized piles. Then they jumped in the piles and I reraked. And raked again. And again. Since bending over to scoop up the leaves was a little tricky with one child strapped to me, I recruited leaf scoopers who filled up buckets with leaves and handed them to me. I dumped the leaves into the green waste bin, and then as a treat for good behavior let them take turns jumping inside the bin to pack the leaves down, which they thought was great and amazing fun.
