At the Cabin Part 6: Mr. Trouble on Feet Falls in Love with the Kid Kayak

Mr. Trouble on Feet isn’t as excited to be in the water like the big kidlets.  It’s not that he never goes in and gets wet, he just approaches the water with a lot less enthusiasm and in a much calmer  way than his siblings.  He’s pretty content to be standing on two legs on solid ground.  In general, he also approaches boats with a lot of distrust.  Boats with a motor are loud and scary.  He never wants to come along in my kayak for a ride.  Even the ferry boat we rode last month was disturbing for him.  However, when he saw the new sit on top kid kayak at the cabin, he was very intrigued, and after watching a few other people try it, he asked for his own ride.  Maybe it was because the boat was smaller, or maybe it was that wonderful shiny red paddle, or maybe it was just understanding he was in control of how fast the kayak was moving, but it didn’t take long for Mr. TOF to fall in love with his kayak experience!  It was one of his favorite things to do at the cabin, and he asked to do it over and over.  By the  end of the weekend he was starting to get the hang of how the paddle worked and could move forward and not just backwards,  toodeling around by the dock.  He liked being in charge of his own transportation!
