Wicked Waves

THIS is why I have been so excited to move next to one of the largest bodies of freshwater that exists! I have a major love of waves! I’ve always been fascinated with ocean waves, but they’re hard to find in the midwest. When the wind blows from just the right direction, though, the seas can get wicked right here in the middle of the country. We drove down to the shore this evening with the troops just for an outing out of the house without even really realizing that the wind was from the right direction to make monster seas. On our way down the hill we couldn’t help but notice enormous white capped waves far below. I was so excited. I could have just basked on the rocks all night in the frigid mist of the waves, but my family was getting a bit antsy.

I love watching the water roil, constantly coiling around in menacing patterns and crashing onto the shore in a most furious evil fashion. I can’t wait for a really good storm this fall.
