There are several reasons why I very, very excited about this picture of The Banana that I took this morning. First of all, I’ve been trying to get a picture that shows those two pearly white teeth for weeks, and I have finally suceeded. Second of all, this is just exactly how she looks to me. You’d think it wouldn’t be so hard to capture how your child looks in your own eyes, but it really is. Every time I snap a picture, her face turns out different in the camera than I saw it with my own eyes. And third, I just had a great time taking this picture, along with several others that aren’t quite as good. The older two bouncing bundles of energy were downstairs playing, and The Banana was scooting around in my office, the sunroom. I grabbed the camera and sat down on the floor. She was in a terrific mood and was having the best time crawling around and smiling at me, so the picture represents a nice memory. And lastly, I love the way the light drapes through the image.
