Wednesday Afternoons

Every Wednesday I load one, two, or three kids up in the van and we pick up YaYa from school and take her to oboe lessons.  Sometimes, if Dr. Peds is working, Mr. TOF stays home, and Mr. SP stays home to work on homework whenever he can because the rest of Wednesday is a busy day, and it really isn’t that much fun waiting in the car during his big sister’s oboe lesson anyway.  The Banana always comes with me, though, even if she thinks she doesn’t want to, because our car time on Wednesdays is special reading time.  She reads out loud to me.  I read chapter books out loud to her.  Even though she’s becoming a great silent reader, Wednesday car time is for reading out loud.  We read and work on her AWANA verse, and read some more, and before  you know it, the whole oboe lesson has passed and we are on our way to run a few errands.  Then we head home for the craziness that comprises Wednesday evenings at our house.  The mayhem of Wednesday evenings is not usually my favorite, so I try hard cherish the peaceful time reading in the car during oboe lessons before the storm hits.
