Bundled Up

Although without the wind  it wasn’t all that much colder than it has frequently been the past few weeks, we spent today,  the first of our “cold day” vacation from school doing fun tricks, like throwing the water we used to boil noodles for lunch out the door to watch it instantly evaporate and turn into “snow.”  I also went out to try to blow some bubbles to see if they would freeze.  Some of them did freeze midair, and then popped and shattered ice crystals, but unfortunately I couldn’t get any actual bubbles to land and stay frozen.  They popped in the air and they popped on contact.  I did see some of the bubbles freeze into a milky white orb while they were in the air, and the bubble wand froze.  We have another day off from school tomorrow.  The kidlets keep asking when we are going somewhere.  Ha.  I’m not going anywhere.

Oh Rachel, this is so funny because Paul and Nona posted a video doing the exact same two things with the boiling water and bubbles. 🙂 Wish we could be there to enjoy some of that snow! Our 10 degree day off of school was not nearly so exciting without snow to play in. 🙂
