Snowy Walk

This week my kidlets have a break from school all week.  I actually love that we get an entire week break in February and another week-long break in April.  Breaks like that help everyone come back to the classroom refreshed and ready to learn.  I would have loved that when I was a teacher, and now that I am a parent, I really do enjoy a long block of open time with my kidlets that I can plan for during both of those weeks.  Sometimes we travel to North Dakota to see family.  Sometimes we don’t. During this break we are staying put.  Throughout the early part of this week we’ve had another medium sized snowstorm, and warm weather.  The past two days have been a balmy 35 degrees!  Since it’s  been so cold, 35 degrees feels like 55 degrees, and we have been making sure that we enjoy every moment that we can outside before more snow comes our way later this week.

Dr. Peds is working nights this week, so he has been able to spend some time with kidlets during the days.  On Tuesday, after snow blowing and shoveling ourselves out again, Dr. Peds took Mr. TOF to nature nook class.  We all went along, and I went for a hike in the woods with the three big kidlets.  It was  a super slow hike, but we had a lot of fun in the snow.
These two!  They are quite the pair.  This one likes her space, especially on a hike.  Mr. Sneaky Pants enjoyed  shaking the snow off super tall red pine trees.  He loved watching the clumps fall slowly to the ground, and even better, he took pleasure in trying to trick members of his family into standing where a snow shower was imminent.  He also delighted in shaking the tree and running under the falling snow.
