Images: Cousins Visit

Auntie Dot and Uncle Don needed a larger vehicle for their family, and fortunately for us, found just  the used vehicle they were looking for in Duluth, which prompted a spontaneous visit so they could come and collect their new van.  We were thrilled to have them stay for the weekend.  Mr. TOF had been talking about how much he missed his cousins, and he was delighted to have them arrive.  Unfortunately the weather was cold and that, along with the excessive amount of snow,  made it difficult to be outside.  We found lots of other things to do, though:  toys, books, a little trip to the aquarium.  Dr. Peds grilled food.  Dot and I escaped to Barnes and Nobles for a quick outing.

She’s adorable, as always.  Her favorite person is YaYa, but Dr. Peds seems to be a close second.

Sadly, after Sunday School this cute boy got the stomach flu.  It was sad that he kept throwing up, but I did enjoy getting some extra snuggles in the afternoon.  (Cleaning up spaghetti throw up was a small price to pay for snuggles, but I do think spaghetti vomit is the worst kind of all).  There’s just something endearing about the privilege of taking care of sick little kids:  when it’s all said and done, you feel all the more love for them.

I was beyond thrilled to get to spend lots of time with this young man.   He’s an incredibly good natured little baby.  Nothing really seems to phase him.  He just kind of hangs out and waits his turn, giving passers by huge toothless grins.  He’s positively an enormous baby:  multiple chins and thighs that your two hands together  can hardly reach around. He’s also the first niece or nephew  who actually really seems to like me as a baby.  I think, however, that this one probably likes anybody.  He loves music, and we spent hours rocking and singing.  He even likes piano music.  I was taking the picture above, when KaKa stepped right in with flirty eyes and a big grin.  She likes the camera. Cousin Alex wanted a picture too.
