Ms. Crazy Preschooler’s Class Tells the Christmas Story

I survived bringing Destructoman and The Banana to Sarah’s Preschool program by myself today. It actually went very well, although I didn’t get to take many pictures because The Banana was in the sling and kept bopping her head on the camera, and every third minute I was chasing down Mr. Destructoman who had a curious tendency to wander off and check other things out. Ms. Crazy Preschooler was an angel, an angel with a peculiar face due to the fact that she colored all over her cheeks with crayola washable markers that didn’t exactly wash off yesterday afternoon. But she was a very sweet angel nonetheless. After reciting their parts to tell the Christmas story (which was too adorable for words) the preschoolers sang “Away in the Manger” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, followed by a rousing chorus of “Come on Ring those Bells,” “Happy Birthday Jesus” and “Jingle Bells.” They did fantastically. Destructoman even sat still to watch, once I pulled him off the stage when he tried to join the singers, amid a few tears.

I must have looked like the Ever Approchable Mom today, because when I dropped Ms. CP off in the morning, a little boy pulled me aside to show me the bug hiding in the plastic tool bench. He was very excited about this special news. Later on as I was assisting a few tykes with their costumes another little boy came up and gave me a great big hug and said, “You are very nice.” And he doesn’t even know me!
