Autumn in My City

My favorite season is still rolling along.  Every year I am surprised at how long the autumn season actually lasts here.  In my childhood autumn colors literally lasted four or five days, but in the forest trees change in their own sweet time, some early and some late, which means that every day the view changes, and it’s often truly breathtaking to take a walk down the street or even better yet a hike in the forest.  Because of the elevation change and Lake Superior we manage to squeak out a couple of extra weeks of fall if you start celebrating at the top of the hill and when those leaves fall, move your feasting eyeballs down to the land by the Lake.  I’ve been trying to get outside a little bit every day to enjoy it all.
