Everyday Moments: Unpacking the Lunchboxes

Nobody likes unpacking  lunch boxes at our house.  Even though it’s supposed to be the first thing kidlets do upon walking over the threshold after getting off the bus, if I’m lucky, the task is completed by supper time.  Lots of times it isn’t done until bedtime.  Sometimes it gets done at breakfast the next day when people need a place to put their new lunch for the upcoming meal.  Sometimes it doesn’t get done at all, and I find leftover lunch from days past in a lunch box stashed who knows where.  Sometimes unpacked lunch boxes pile up on the counter.  Sometimes they get stashed behind the couch or in kid bedrooms.  Once I even found one under MY bed.  Sometimes I give up, and when I see a lunch box lying around I just make the decision to unpack it myself, because in the end, that’s probably just easier.
