Miscellaneous Scenes from Easter Weekend

They helped Grandma Robbie move her patio furniture back onto the deck.

The little ones had an egg hunt in the yard by the house.  The big kids had an egg hunt in the barnyard.  Uncle Joey did such a good job hiding their eggs that even though they searched for almost an hour, they didn’t find all the plastic eggs, and eventually gave up in favor of playing on the straw bales.

There was a  lot of running in the big wide open spaces. They played soccer, baseball, and a game sort of like lawn darts, and sometimes they just ran in circles.

This nest fell out of a pine tree.

In the middle of the afternoon these boys convinced their Papa to take them to the pasture to check cows.  The Banana and Cousin Jack went along also and I think they tried to name all the baby calves “Martha” and “Fruitloops.”  Fruitloops was the name my brother and I gave one of our favorite calves when we were small.  Its a good spunky name for bovine beauties.

My mother was so impressed/intensely horrified by my favorite pair of red, plastic polka dotted cat eye sunglasses that she rummage around in a drawer and pulled out my Grandma Edna’s clip on cat eye sunglasses and tried them on.  We really should have gotten a picture together, both of us decked out in cat-eyes.
