Amity Creek

On our first day of summer vacation we went to check out a new spot along Amity Creek.  We discovered it for the first time last fall, and I knew the minute I saw it that it would be a terrific swimming spot.  We arrived in the middle of the day, and even though it is in the forest, there was a perfect gentle breeze and no bugs!  Mr. SP, The Banana and Mr. TOF spent three hours wading through the creek, sliding down the flat wet rocks on the cascades, and splashing about.  They found some crayfish to poke with long sticks, climbed around on the rocks, and had a magnificent time together.  The sky was blue, the creek burbled, and there was even a perfect bald eagle swooping around in the sky above the tree tops.  It was the perfect start to our first day without school.
