Last Day of Soccer

On the last day of soccer, Mr. Trouble on Feet’s two coaches decided to have a scrimmage between his team, maroon, and their partner team, blue.  Mr. TOF was so happy to play in a real soccer game!  He zipped around the field kicking, dribbling and scoring goals.  He was super excited to be the goalie, and defended the net with valor (nothing got past him).   Since he’s a little taller than everybody else, and quick on his feet, after scoring a lot of goals right in a row, his kind coach said she wanted him to pass the ball to at least one other maroon player before he scored a goal, and a you know what, he actually did that. (Not an easy concept for preschoolers).   Although, later on he told me “It was really hard to pass, Mom, because all the other kids were right next to me.  They should have spread out more instead of clumping.  They were so silly.”

He absolutely loves soccer.

There was one small moment of crying when he got kicked in the leg, but we strapped on his shin guards and he was good to go.

Soccer with this guy is SOOOOO much different than his big brother’s experience with soccer.

Look closely and you will see that Batman was playing soccer too.  He happened to be on the maroon team.  Who needs a soccer shirt when you can have a Batman costume? I love preschoolers.

Halfway through the game the teams switched goals.  The coach asked, “Which way are we kicking the ball.”  His answer was a bit exuberant.  He was really, really having a good time.

High fives  for the teams.

High fives for the coaches.  He has decided he’d like to be on a soccer team all summer long.
